William Brown was baptised on 9th December 1759 at Kimpton in Hertfordshire, son of Thomas and Ann Brown. He was the fifth of nine children baptised at Kimpton to the couple between 1751 and 1765.

William presumably died young, given that his parents went on to name their next son William in 1763, although there is no obvious burial at Kimpton in the records.
