Ann's origins and maiden name are unknown. Her first sighting is on 20th September 1751, when she and her husband Thomas Brown had their eldest child, Elizabeth, baptised at Kimpton in Hertfordshire. Between 1751 and 1765, the couple had nine children baptised at Kimpton, although it would appear that at least two died young, given that there were three children called William.

Neither Thomas nor Ann have yet to be traced after the baptism of their youngest child at Kimpton in 1765.
