William BOGLE (26sep1762-24nov1806), postmaster, married Martha MARSHALL (15jan1766-1848) (R. Kelly). Scottish archives have the wills of William Bogle, merchant and postmaster in Glasgow, reg. 27apr1807 Glasgow, and Martha Bogle alias Marshall, died at Glasgow, widow of William Bogle, Glasgow merchant, reg. 13oct1848 (scotlandspeople). A portrait of William Bogle (1762-1806 Glasgow) was lent to Old Glasgow Exhibition by Archibald Hamilton Donald, 8 Blythswood Sq., Glasgow; William was postmaster of Glasgow, 3rd son of Robert Bogle (4th) of Shettleston; married Martha Marshall, daughter of Capt Richard Marshall. William Bogle d. 24nov1806 aged 44 (tombstone, High Church, Old Glasgow Exhibition notes and indexes).
