    William Brueston Ames, 78, of 325 Liberty Street, California, died Sunday, January 27, 1974, in Brownsville General Hospital.
    He was born November 24, 1895, in Saltzburg, a son of A.A. and Elizabeth Chrissman Ames.
    He was educated at Elders Ridge Academy and was a member of the Methodist Church of California. He was also a member of the Beallsville Masonic Lodge No. 237, the California Hill Gun Club, the Brownsville Elks, and the California John F. Kennedy American Legion Post.
    A veteran of World War I, he owned and operated a garage in Centerville until 1938 when he moved to California. He was a retired employee of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Company,
    Surviving are his widow, Gladys Crumrine Ames and two sisters, Mrs. James Peace of Delmont, and Mrs. Florence Moore of Mt. Lebanon.
    A brother, A. A. Ames, Jr., and a sister, Mrs. Boyd Stein are deceased.

WILLIAM BRUCETON AMES (730) was born November 24, 1895 at Saltsburg, Westmore land County, Pa. and attended school at Loyal- hanna Township and in Saltsburg Public and Elders Ridge Vocational School in Indiana County. He served in World War 1 from July 19, 1917 until July 29, 1919 with Company M. Ambulance Corps, Fifth Division. He was a mechanic by trade and has resided for 45 years in Washington County. He was married at Cumberland, Md., December 24, 1926 to Gladys Crumrine of Bentleyville, Pa. (born August 15, 1904 at Bentleyville). She at tended Bentleyville schools and graduated from high school there ; also graduated from California Normal College and has other degrees from West Virginia College at Morgantown and Pitt Univer sity in Pittsburgh. She now teaches at the Roscoe Schools in Washington County. There are no children in the family.
