LOGAN AND DIASANIA BOLIN ALLEE
Logan Allee (1826 - 1910), son of Nicholas and Tempy Hill Allee, and Diazania Bolin (1832 - 1904), daughter of William and Elizabeth Bolin, were married October 1, 1850. All of their lives were spent in the Latham area. His grandfather, David Allee, was a Revolutionary War soldier. Logan served as a lieutenant in the Confederate Army and was also in the state legislature.
He and Diazania were the parents of seven daughters and one son. The eldest, Martha Isabenda, married Ferdinand Harriman. Their children were Walter, Lou Fitzgerald, Elmer, Frances, Alice Funk, Roy, and Amy Leatherman. The latter is the only surviving child of this union; she lives in Lee's Summit.
Margaret Roxana married John Wells. He had two young sons by a previous marriage, James and Tenny. Margaret and John's children were Luther, Ray, Lela Robertson, and Beulah May Donley who lives in Kansas. Mrs. Paul Bolinger, daughter of Ray Wells, lives in California.
Johanna married Thomas Benton Anderson. Their children were Vern Ellen Wilson, Vinita Fostina Taylor, Diazania Holland, Ethel Nadine Bond, John Logan, Sally Railey, Hattie Elizabeth, Edward Benton, and mary Virginia Paradis. Sally Railey lives in the state of California.
May was the wife of Christopher King Gist. Their children were Robert, Velma Wells, and Learl Irey who lives in Springfield. After the death of May, the children were reared in the Logan Allee home.
Dolly married Sebastain Fulks. Their two children were John and Mabel.
Oma was the wife of Robert Clay. Dolly, Oma, and May died within three years of each other with tuberculosis. Diazania, the mother, lived for many years with the disease and did not die until several years after her daughters. The youngest child, a son, Robert Lee, died as a small child.
The family is buried in the Highland Cemetery near Latham.
The youngest daughter, Sally, was the wife of Charles Milburn. They lived most of their married life in California. Their one daughter, Fay Ikard, lives in Lee's Summit.
