Obituary from newspaper states death as the ninth day of June 1927, at 3:45 A.M., in Havelock, IA.

Minnie Thon was born in Hummerson, Germany, on the eighth day of October 1852, and died on the ninth day of June, 1927, at 3:45 a.m., in Havelock, Iowa, being at the time of her going 74 years, 8 months, and one day of age. She was confirmed in the German Lutheran Church when she was 14 years of age, and was married to William P. Buck:December 13 1874 and to this union was born eight children, six sons and two daughters, all of which survive except the first born, who died in infancy. The surviving children are as follows: Mrs Martha Herscher, Mrs George Miller, and Richard F, and Louis E of Rolfe, Iowa: William H. And Henry W., of Havelock, Iowa, and Fred J., of Alpha, Minnesota. Mr. Buck:her husband, preceded her in death on the eighteenth day of December, 1919, at the age of 66 years. In the fall of 1882 they moved from Germany to America and lived in the state of Illinois at Kankakee county for 19 years and from there they moved to Pocahontas county in the spring of 1902 near Rolfe, Iowa, where they lived on their farm for nine years and from there they moved to Havelock, where they lived up to the time of their deaths. Mrs. Buck was a kind and loving mother and sacrificed for her children whenever it was nessessary and she will be sarly (sic) missed by the remaining children and by her other relatives and friends. Following a brief service of reading and prayer at the home in Havelock, Saturday, June 11, at 2:15 o’clock the body was borne across the street to the Methodist church from which the funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. T. Grove of Plover, and Rev. Wilson Gow, of Havelock. Interment was in the Powhatten cemetery, near Plover, where Mr. Buck was buried. The five sons, Richard, Louis, William, Henry, Fred, and grandson, LeRoy Miller served as pall bearers and a large number of friends and relations attended.
