   William H. Mueller, native of Wisconsin, was born in 1854 in Dodge County.  In 1874 he migrated to Minnesota; lived in Winona County for a time, and in 1878 took a farm in Lac qui Parle County, which was his home till February, 1882, since which date he has been proprietor of the Odessa House.  Married in 1879, Helena Sellin; two boys: Henry and Arthur.-------

(Also mentioned in this book is that the first religious services were held at the house of William Gloege on section 19 during the summer of 1872 by Rev. August Schmidt, Evangelical.)

Obituary Ortonville paper Dec 3, 1925 William H. Mueller Early Settler Dead---- Resident of Yellowbanks Since 1878 Dies Suddenly: Funeral Held Today.------

  William H. Mueller, resident of the Yellowbanks, Lac qui Parle county, since the year 1878 and one of the prominent and successful farmers of that territory, died at his home there on Monday, November 30 from myocardities, at the age of 71 years.
  Mr Mueller had not been well for the past two weeks.  Two years ago he suffered from a stroke but had apparently recovered, resuming his farming activities.
  Mr Mueller, who was born near Watertown, Wisconsin, February 28, 1854, came to the Yellowbank territory in the fall of 1878 and took a pre-emption about seven miles southeast of Ortonville. He was united in marriage in May 1879 to Lena Sellin at Odessa, and together they reared a family of 14 children, two daughters having preceded their father in death.
  Those surviving besides Mrs. Mueller are the 14 children. 7 boys and 7 girls. Henry, Otto, William, Walter, Fred, Bruno, and Elmer and (Meta) Mrs. August Rakow, (Ella) Mrs. William Rakow, Freda, (Lena) Mrs Adolph Miller, (Erna) Mrs. Emil Rakow, Gertrude and Elizabeth. The deceased is also survived by his brother, August, of Ortonville and a sister, Mrs Fred Janzow(sic), of Lewiston, Minn, besides a wide circle of other relatives and friends.
 Funeral services were held from the Yellowbank Lutheran Church this afternoon at one o'clock with the Reverend Mr Tormillen, officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery there.
