Wilbert J. Kraak, 79, of Zeeland, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at Hospice House of Holland.

He graduated from Zeeland High School in 1945 and went on to become an accountant and retired from John A. Van Den Bosch Co. after 31 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Zeeland Free Methodist Church where he served on the board of trustees and was the treasurer for 22 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, in 1980, and his stepdaughter, Eileen Hicks, in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter Christie Kraak of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla; sons William and Jeanne Kraak of Black Mountain, N.C. and Kenneth and Ann Kraak of West Friendship, Md.; stepson Roger and Jean Snow of Elkhart, Ind.; stepdaughters Judy and Gary Berens of Zeeland and Betty and Charles Wibert of Spring Lake; stepson-in-law Gene Hicks of Holland; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 11 stepgrandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Jane and Kenneth Palmer of Arcadia, Fla., Ruth and Elwood Robart of Flint and Joyce and Henry Redder of Zeeland; in-laws Marian Dykstra of Zeeland, Eunice and Gene Schrotenboer of Byron Center, Lois and Glen Marema of Holland, Robert De Jonge of Drenthe and Irene De Jonge of Holland.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Zeeland Free Methodist Church, 3041 96th Ave., Zeeland, with the Rev. Jerry Van Kuiken officiating. Visiting is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St., Zeeland. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zeeland Free Methodist Church or Hospice of Holland.
