AUGUSTA (AP) -- The director of the state Driver Improvement School says he has a dim view of the skills of the average Maine motorist. Wayne B. Dow of Augusta, veteran driving teacher, told a graduating group of teen-agers Thursday night that the average driving skill is probably no better than 60 per cent of the ideal--although many a motorist believes his operation is nearly perfect.
