    MORTUARY.
    Commerce, Ga., February 6- W. J. BURGESS died at the home of his son, Rev. C. T. Burgess, near Walnut Hill,in Franklin county,this morning. He was missed by the family and when found he was lying across the bed in his room and was dead. He had been ill for some time, but his death was unexpected. He was 85 years old and had served as justice of the peace for nearly half a century. His remains were interred at the old family graveyard near this place yesterday. [Washington J. Burgess, born 10 January 1821, is buried in the Burgess Cemetery, aka Vaughn-Ginn Cemetery, in Banks county.]
