Will of Warren Clayton

Kentucky Bath County July 22, 1820

To all whom these presents may come greeting that I, Warren Clayton being sick and like unto death, have made this as my Last Will and Testament, revoking all others that may be made before, And do distribute by real & personal property to my beloved wife and children as follows. And my soul to him who made it, in the name of God Amen, after all my just debts being paid I will and bequeath to my beloved wife, 40 acres of land where she now lives which I give unto my beloved wife for her proper use and benefit, to have and to hold the same as her own, during her life, All other personal property to the same. I also desire Benjamin my negro boy to serve till the youngest child comes of age, and then to obtain his freedom. I find myself in my proper mind; being reconciled to the above distribution, in witness where of I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed my hand and seal, the day and date above mentioned.
