    FAWN GROVE Walter Nesson Stewart, 78, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at his home. He was the husband of Helen V. (Whitehair) Stewart, with whom he was married 58 years. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove. Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Pastor Jane A. Harrison officiating.
    Mr. Stewart was born on January 31, 1929, in Flemington, W. Va., a son of the late Walter T. and the late Ora (Crumrine) Stewart.
    Mr. Stewart retired from Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore, in December 1985 after 37 years of service. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp He was a member of Fawn United Methodist Church and served as secretary of the Sunday School for many years. He was a member of Friendship Masonic Lodge #663 F&AM, Fawn Grove.
    In addition to enjoying camping with his wife and winter trips to Florida, he was an avid gardner. He is survived by six children, Ronald R. Stewart and Diane M. of Brogue, Darlene L. and husband, Mark A. Browning of Stewartstown, Lester C. and wife, Donna A. Stewart of Fawn Grove, Walter E. and wife, Melisa E. Stewart of Windsor, Roger N. Stewart of Fawn Grove and Carol L. Stewart of Joppa, Md.; 13 grandchildren, Gregory, Michael, Curtis, Kenneth, Steven, Julie, Elisabeth, Lee, Mark, Jordyn, Tammy, Denise and Tina; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Hailey; two brothers, Thomas and Grover Stewart of Marietta, Ohio; four sister, Nadine Simmons of Clarksburg, W. Va., Jackie Crouse of Painesville, Ohio, Joan McCloy, and Sue Tingler both of Grafton, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Stewart is predeceased by a son, Kenneth A. Stewart; and a brother, Charles Stewart.
    The family will provide flowers and requests memorial contributions be made to VNA/ Hospice Services, 218 E. Market St., York, PA 17403; or to Fawn UMC Building Fund, 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, PA 17321.
