2/13/1997 Walter A. Knotts, 80, of Massillon, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997, in Massillon Community Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Grantsville, a son of the late Robert J. Knotts, Sr., and Lillie Mace Knotts. He lived in Massillon most of his adult life and retired in 1981 from Massillon Spring and Rivet where he worked as a quality controller. He was an avid bingo player.

Surviving are his second wife, Betty Knotts; a daughter, Karen Smith of Navarre, Ohio; a stepson, Steven Horvath III of Massillon; two stepdaughters, Penny Henry and Stephanie Rivera, both of Massillon; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betti Knotts; three sisters, Ruby L. Strimple, Pansy Kathryn Kanyak, Daisy V. Stump; and four brothers, William Bryan Knotts, Sr., Robert J. Knotts, Jr., Russell P. 'Dubb' Knotts and Henry E. Knotts. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
