Obituary Juneau County Chronicle, 5/20/1915 "When an infant he came with his parents to Wisconsin in 1848, and in 1854 to Juneau County, where has resided almost continually since. Mrs.. Thompson preceded him to grave by only a few weeks. He is survived by brother Ozro (Mauston) and Western of Racine, Minnesota. Also Miss Grace Fish Thompson, who it has previously been mentioned, stood in the relation of children to the childless couple. According to Alta Morgan in 1992, following a blood clot he had his leg amputated on table at home, and died from shock, after the amputation. Two adopted daughters Miss Grace Fish Thompson and Mrs. Herb Carter. Lived 60 years in Mauston. Buried on Tiffeny lot in Mauston, according to Selma Newkirk, 1992
