Vix Dillenschneider and his wife Anna Keller are known to be the parents of Jean Simon Dillenschneider.

There is no evidence showing that Vix is actually the son of Vix Dillenschneider (also recorded as Thielenschneider). It has been accepted that this is the case for a number of reasons;

• Jean Simon Dillenschneider cannot be the son of the elder Vix Dillenschneider because their known death and birth are 15 years apart.
• Vix Dillenschneider and Anna Keller lived in Dabo.
• The elder Vix Dillenschneider was the Bailiff of Dabo.
• Vix Dillenschneider is the namesake of the elder Vix Dillenschneider, which was a very common occurrence from father to son.
