    Mrs. Vivian Foster Isley, 104, formerly of Hawthorne Lane, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. after a one-month critical illness.

    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Richard Freeman Isley Sr., and the daughter of Charles F. Foster and Martha Isley Foster, both deceased. She was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church

    She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hughes (Avril) Rhodes of Burlington, Mrs. Luona Isley Burwell of North Myrtle Beach, and Mrs. Arnold (Helen) Ward of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, Mr. Harold V. Isley and his wife, Nellie, of Burlington and Donald W. Isley and his wife, Mary Lee, of Maryville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Isley; a son, Richard Freeman Isley Jr.; two sisters, Lula F. Coble and Edna F. Todd; and three brothers, W. S. Foster Sr., Lenwood Foster and Clifford T. Foster.

    The funeral will be conducted at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington today, August 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Alan Sasser, and the Rev. R. E. L. Moser. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington one hour prior to the start of the funeral service. At other times they will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Harold V. Isley, 304 Shadowbrook Drive, Burlington and Mr. and Mrs. Hughes Rhodes, 1220 Warwick Drive, Burlington.
