Virginia Ostach, 92, of Blairsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Keeper of the Flame Morewood, Blairsville. A daughter of Paul and Kathryn Niemiec Ostach, she was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Palmerton. She lived her entire life in the Black Lick area and was a member of SS. Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville. Miss Ostach worked in food service for 35 years at Torrance State Hospital, retiring in 1975. Surviving are a sister, Stella Jubinski, Blairsville; and 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Victor, Joseph, Andrew and Rudy; and a sister, Mary Bogdanski. The family received friends at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville. A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at SS. Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant. Interment was in SS. Simon & Jude Cemetery.
