    Andrew T. Ostach, 74, of Black Lick, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at UPMC, Pittsburgh. A son of Paul C. and Katherine Niemic Ostach, he was born November 30, 1929 in Palmertown.
    Mr. Ostach was a member of SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville.
    He was also a member of the Professional Barber's Association.

    He had his private pilot's license and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association since 1955.

    He loved fishing, hunting and camping but his great love was flying He graduated from Blairsville High School in 1948 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Navy.

    Mr. Ostach was a barber for 43 years, having worked at the Regency Mall Barbers for 20 years, retiring in 1995.

    Surviving are nine children, Andrew A., Blairsville; Melvin M., Silver Spring, Md.; William J. and his wife Margaret, Blairsville; Paul C. and his wife Carol, Silver Spring, Md.; Carl A. and his wife Robin, Beaver Falls; David M., Indianapolis, Ind.; Claudia J. Welker and her husband Roger, Northridge, Calif.; Marian R., Silver Spring, Md. and Valerie A. Ostach-Fagan and her husband Christopher of Damascus, Md.;

    Also 10 grandchildren; a brother, Rudolph, Blairsville and two sisters, Virginia, Palmertown and Stella Jubinski, Blairsville.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann Kinosz Ostach in 1985; two brothers, Joseph and Victor and a sister, Mary Bogdanski.

    The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville where a wake service will be held on Friday at 8:30 p.m.

    A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.

    Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post 5821 and the American Legion.

    Interment will be in SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
