Former Bradner mayor Virgil Ray "Jack" Bowe, 85, of Pemberville died Thurs day at home. He was born in Helena to Wallace and Ruth (Keller) Bowe. He was a 1936 gra duate of Bradner High School, having attended the first OH Buckeye Boys St ate that same year. He served with the U.S Navy aboard PT boats during Wor ld War II in the Mediterranean. Mr. Bowe retired in 1979 as maintenance foreman at Sun Oil in Toledo aft er 37 years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where he served as building c hairman, Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years, president of the ch urch council and lay minister. He was a charter member of the Wood CO Gide on Society and a lifemember of the Pemberville American Legion Post. Mr. Bowe was an avid wood and cabinet maker specializing in grandfather cl ocks, having built more than 50 of the clocks. He married Edna Margaret Hathaway on Jan. 11, 1941, in Bradner. She pass ed away on Feb. 5, 1990. He later married Marjorie A (Kehle) Seammen on M ay 5, 2001, in Bradner, and she survives. Also surviving are sons James R Bowe of Pemberville and Alan F Bowe of Bow ling Green; daughters Judy F (Gary) Bierly of N Ridgeville, Brenda K (Lore n) Damschroder of Gibsonburg and Sue A (Robert) Rogal-ski of Toledo; stepd aughters Claudia Seammen of Canton MI., and Barbara Holbrook of Marblehea d; sisters Doris Swope and Helen Loew, both of Pemberville, and Marian Luf itz of Fountain Valley, Calif.; brother Robert Bowe of Wayne; and 12 grand children, four stepgrandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preced ed by his parents and brothers Donald and Vincent Bowe. Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner. The casket w ill be taken to the church one hour before the services. Burial: Bradner Cemetery.
