Wetherbee, Viola Gertrude "Gertie" Age 85 of Three Rivers

Died Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at Three Rivers Area Hospital. She was born December 8, 1914 in Cass County, Michigan, to Lewis Albert and Mary Jane (Mohn) Tyler. On September 13, 1934, she married Roy Homer Wetherbee, in Elkhart, IN, before moving to Three Rivers. Mrs. Wetherbee enjoyed cooking, crocheting, spending time with her family and traveling throughout Northern Michigan. Surviving are her loving husband, Roy H. Wetherbee; one daughter, JoAnn (Raymond) Jesswein of Union, IL; two sons, Richard (Lynda) Wetherbee of Silverdale, WA, and James W. (Linda) Wetherbee of Three Rivers. Also surviving are three sisters, Alberta Leach of Edwardsburg, Kathryn Hunsberger of Three Rivers, and Jane Kelly of Cassopolis; two sisters-in-law, Erma Tyler of Middlebury, IN, and Jean Tyler of Huntington, IN; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wetherbee was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary Jane Tyler; four brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2000 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral Services for Mrs. Wetherbee will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2000 at Halverson Chapel, Rev. Gary L. Carr officiating. Internment at Poe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Corey Church of the Nazarene, or the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
