  12. " Vernon L. Roose, age 85 of Alliance, died at his home at 7:40 a.m.Monday October 4, 2004.
    He was born May 6, 1919 in Mahoning County, Ohio to Elra and Margaret(Lauener) Roose and was a lifelong resident.
    Mr. Roose retired from Morgan Engineering after working as a Machinistfor 47 years.
    He was a member of First Immanuel Church of Christ. Mr. Roose was also amember of the Morgan Engineering Retirees Club and was past treasurer ofthe Berlin Lake Association.
    He was also a U.S. Army Signal Corps Veteran.
    Survivors include his wife Matilda "Tillie" (Lewis) Roose, whom hemarried May 30, 1941; two sons Larry V. (Ann) Roose of Bedford, Texasand Ronald R. (Cathy) Roose of Ramsey, Minnesota; two sisters Elsie Boydof Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Eileen Sturgeon of Santa Monica,California, and three grandsons Scott of Utah, Tony of Minnesota andBrian of Texas, and four great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Merle Roose, andtwo granddaughters.
    Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-ChristianFuneral Home with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call from7-9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery." (found atonline site for his funeral home)
