Vera M. DeFrates, 65, of 700 S. Illinois was found dead at 5:30 a.m. Saturday at the Towne Lounge, 214 N. 4th St.
She was employed as a night waitress at the Town Lounge.
Her mother, Mary Ellen Howard, preceded her in death in 1953.
Surviving are her husband, Robert "Bob"; her step-father, James P. Howard Sr. of Springfield; two brothers, Howard Lauchner and James P. Howard Jr., both of Springfield; seven sisters, Mrs. Pearl Thompson, Mrs. Dorothy Shaw, Mrs. Helen Johnson, Mrs. Mary Rose Takacs and Mrs. Shirley Harford, all of Springfield; Mrs. Marlene Millburn of Marion, Iowa and Miss Virginia Howard of Southgate, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bisch Memorial Home. Rev. Edward Hellyer officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
