Ute was used as an alais the name of John Bland and James Anderson. He was the leader of the Perkins' gang. He seemed to follow in his parents' footsteps as he was called a horse theif. He was charged as a horse theif. He supposedly became involved with and had children with a married woman named Skelton.

1747 - Robert Cunningham apprehended Ute Perkins charging that Samuel Gay had indulged Ute Perkins in several things.

1747 - Patrick Finley was convicted of aiding Ute Perkins and George Steel to escape.

March of 1747 - a horse which was supposedly stolen by Ute Perkins was delievered to the Sheriff.

In Frederick Co. VA Adam Sherrill had charges brought up against him for "harbouring Ute Perkins, a horse theif". Ute was Adam's nephew.
