1762. October 3. Our neighbor, Henry Hermann, and his brother-in-law, Ulrich Richards, brought their children to us for baptism, and we could not refuse their request, so at noon Brother Ettwein baptised little Daniel Hermann, and Brother Groff baptised little Anna Richards.
Hello all Richards decendents. I am hoping someone may have info on Ulrich Richards parents. He was my Gr-Gr-Gr-Gr grandfather. Born 1736 in Strasburg, Shenandoah, Va. Married Catherine Harmon/Herrmann in 1759. They had nine children . Anna, Jacob, Ulrich Jr.,Christian , my G-G-G-grandfather. Do not know the names of the other children 1 male and 4 females. This branch of the family left NC and Va. and migrated to Indiana settling in Tipton and Washington counties. If anyone has info about Ulrichs parents and where they came from it would be appreciated if you will contact me. Jack Richards
ROWANROOTS-L Archives Excerpt: What I know about him is that he is (I think) from Rowan County and lived on Brushy Fork of Abbotts Creek. Here is what I have:
Generation one:ULRICH RICHARDS Originated in North Carolina according to another family source (but I don't think documented.) Raised his family in or around the county of Rowan. According to land records this family did reside on Brushy Fork of Abbotts Creek. His son was Christian and Christian's son was Elias.
He married CATHERINE HERMANN/HARMON. I know quite a bit about Catherine's family. Her father was HEINRICH ADAM HERMANN (HARMON)... Thanks. Bonnie
