Truman R. Rogers

Truman R. Rogers of Sapulpa died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at the age of 77.

He was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Purdy, Mo., and moved to Oklahoma as a young boy.

He worked at Liberty Glass for 34 years, later retiring from Sun Oil after 14 years of service.

Truman was an avid hunter and horseman. He had a great love of animals, almost as much as the love he had for the many children he helped to raise.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ollie and Tim Rogers; brothers Leo, Raymond and Coleman Rogers; sisters Violet Zimmerman and Vera Reed.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years MaeBelle Rogers; daughter Trula and husband Robert Ham, son Truman Jr. and wife Nina Rogers; grandchildren Beth and Jerry Mayfield, Shane and Heather Ham, Jimi Wilson, Ron, Charles and Bryan Traver and Jeremy Keeling; great-grandchildren Blake, Kendall and Mason Ham, Richard and Drew Wilson; foster children Tim Hall, Sherry Rankin and over 40 other kids he called his own; Carl and wife Bonnie Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at the Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
