TX - Obits from the Odessa American Online 28 April 1999 ODESSA -- Graveside services for Truman Edward Jenkins, 84, of Odessa will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Robert Scofield officiating. Mr. Jenkins died Monday, April 26, 1999, at his residence. He was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Rising Star. He married Althea "Rose" Justice Oct. 31, 1946, in Borger. She died in 1977. Mr. Jenkins moved to Odessa in 1952 from Amarillo. He had served in the Army Horse Calvary. He was a World War II veteran and was awarded many commendations for military service and bravery. Upon his discharge from the Army, he worked for Skelly Oil Company and later he worked as a pump repairman for Sargent Ind., then retired from Trico Industries in 1979. He enjoyed time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Willamae Harber of Odessa; sister, Christine Howe and her husband, Ray, of Granbury; granddaughter, Denise Wheeler and her husband, Michael, of Odessa; great-grandchildren, Russell and Alanea Wheeler, both of Odessa. He was also preceded in death by son, Jimmie Rex Harber in 1989. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. References
