Cited book, pg 157: "Capt. Townsend Jones, son of William D.; b. March 16, 1818; d. Oct 21, 1884. He never married and for several years followed the sea. In 1862 he gave up his sea life and was later in the employ of the Atlantic Mutual Ins. Co. for twelve years as an inspector of captains, an office which required him to pass upon them relative to their qualification and standing. He was a member of the Society of Friends."
