  3. Claudella Queen Gentry, 88, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Feb. 9, 2001, at Wharton Nursing Home. Funeral services were conducted Feb. 12 at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, and at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah, TN, with burial Feb. 13 at Conasauga Cemetery in Etowah. The Rev. Wayne L. Benson, the Rev. Dean Orr, the Rev. Chris Haynes and the Rev. Ed McClellan officiated, with her grandchildren also participating in the services.
    Mrs. Gentry was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Isabella, TN, the daughter of Gordon and Ida Florence Turner Queen.
    She was a retired switchboard operator for Fort Sanders Presbyterian Hospital in Knoxville, TN. She was a long-time member of North Etowah Baptist Church, and later transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church. She made her home with her daughter and son-in-law for four years before becoming a resident of the nursing home.
    Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Nell and Wayne L. Benson of Fairfield Glade; brother, Doyle Queen of Morganton, GA; sister, Odell Chancey of Harriman, TN; four grandchildren, Mary Tressela Jaggers, Parker Ralph, Aaron Lee and Billy Wayne Benson; and 11 great-grandchildren, Luke, Heather, Jenny, Greg, Chris, Aaron, Mary Elizabeth, Zac, Gabe, Tilly and Sarah.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ida Queen; her husband, Joseph Ralph Gentry; brothers, Harrel Queen, Charley Queen, Turner Queen and Cloyce Queen; and sisters, Gaynell Beam, June Choate and Graypell Cochran Bearden.
    Mrs. Gentry's great-grandchildren served as pallbearers.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County or Wharton Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill.
    Burris Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
