1736 - The name is not clear in the Baptism Register, but it is thought to be Thomas. This date is supported by other evidence. 1806 - Norfolk Poll Book has a Thomas Womack as a farmer owning land and living in North Lopham. 1817 - Thomas made a will. He was a farmer and it also mentions weaving stock. He had purchased messuage or tenement with old Hempland and yards in North Lopham from John Buch shortly before this. His wife, Margaret, had loaned him 100 pounds at the time, which he arranged to repay her in his will. 1817 - Norfolk Poll Book has listing for Thomas Womack sen, owning and occupying land in North Lopham. 1818-19 - Paid rent of 22 pounds 10 shillings. (NRO PD 338/13) 1820 - Burial register records Thomas' age at death as 84 years. He was buried with his second wife. Although the memorial inscription was barely readable in 2002/3, it had been recorded on the survey done by the Women's Institute. 1821 - Will proved in Norfolk Archdeaconry Court. |
