    Thomas Ufford, Stratford, s. of the preced. b. in Eng. and prob. well gro. bef. his f. came over, for in 1641 he had ld. in Wethersfield, and there m. Frances d. of the first Thomas Kilborne, who outliv. him but few wks. and in Jan. 1684 her est. was div. equ. among her br. John K. of W. and sis. Margaret, w. of Richard Law of Stamford, Lydia, w. of Robert Howard of Windsor, and Mary, w. of the first John Root of Farmington. He had large est. but no ch. and his name was, no doubt, in high esteem at S. yet the selectmen and constable, in return of their list of freem. give it Ufoth. The inv. of his prop. 26 Dec. 1683, show. £1,834, wh. by his will of 17 May preced. was giv. in a large proport. to Samuel, s. of his br. John, and good sh. to childr. of his br. Roger Terrill, to his br. John, and his childr. beside adeq. provis. for the wid.

In his will of 17 May 1683 he bequeathed to cousin Samuel, son of brother John of Milford; to wife Frances; to children of brother John Uffott; to Israel Chancy; and to children of brother Roger Terrill [Fairfield PR 3:98].
