Married 3 times. First wife, Sarah Moss, had 2 children and died inchildbirth after the second, who died at 3 weeks. Married second wife, Elizabeth, straightaway and had one child. Elizabeth also died in childbirth. Married Eliza straight after death of Elizabeth and had 8 children (2 were twins). Only child found on 1881 census was Samuel, although the youngest child, Ann, must have been alive since she went on to marry George Plumb. Thomas Towell was almost 60 when his youngest child was born. He diedprior to 1881 but his widow, Eliza, may have still been alive in 1881. Family may all have come from West Quantoxhead, Somerset, England since the youngest children were born there.
