1881 Census- found an "Eliza Towil", a widow aged 72, born Strogumber, living at 9 Newf'd Place, Bristol St Paul In, Gloucester, England with her "son" 'Alexander Towil' aged 19, unmarried, labourer, b Somerset, England, Unlikely that the 19 year-old boy is her son. He is more likely to be her Grandson, Alexander who was the only child of her son Thomas Towell and his wife Elizabeth.

1. ↑ Third wife of Thomas Towell. Her surname could have been 'Gray' or 'Wear'. Married Thomas Towell very soon after his second wife died in childbirth: late 1839 or early 1840.
