When Thomas T Throckmorton was born in September 1780 in Virginia, his father, Lewis, was 35 and his mother, Rachel, was 33. He married Drusilla Flora Hartley in 1794 in Hampshire County, West Virginia. They had 10 children in 28 years. He died in August 1857 in Richmond Dale, Ohio, having lived a long life of 76 years.

"Went to Ohio at the age of sixteen ; m. Sarah Ann Burt, dau of Washington and Valentia (Brass), about 1809.
Ge served in the War of 1812: "Private, Capt. William Stoake's Co; Lieu. Col. John Andrew's 1st Reg. 2d Brigade, Ohio Mil., from Aug. 21, 1812 to Feb. 28, 1813( Adj. gen.'s Dept., Columbus, Ohio). Received a land warrant of 160 acres for his service, near Ray, Jackson Co. Ohio, where the rest of his life was spend; d. while on a visit to his daughters near Richmond Dale, Ohio, in Aug. 1857, aged 75 years. He was a tall, fine lookin man, straight as an arrow, and possessed an excellent bass voice; nearly all his children were good singers.
Mrs. Throckmorton d. May, 1865; both interred in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale, Ohio. A bright old lady in that town said of their daughters, many years ago: The throckmorton girls were the fairest in all the sountry round; and a descendant writes she might have added the proudest! Resided various places Ohio: Jefferson, Scioto and Jackson Counties."

THOMAS THROCKMORTON, born Sep. 1780 in Hampshire Co., Va., married SARAH ANN BURT ca. 1809, died Aug. 1857 in Jackson Co., Ohio. Sarah was born ca. 1790 in Ohio, died May 1865. She was a daughter of Washington & Valentia (Brass) Burt. Thomas & Sarah were buried in Mound Cemetery, Richmondale, Ross Co., Ohio.
Thomas served in the War of 1812. He received a land grant of 160 acres near Ray, Jackson Co., Ohio.
