    As a youth, Thomas was an apprentice to his uncle Samuel Thompson, his father's brother, a member of the Stationers' Guild in London. … He was made a freeman in Farmington in 1677 (Julius Gay Manuscript) and was a member of the Farmington church on 1 March 1679/80 (Farmington Church Records, slip index citing 1:102, 2:42, NEHGR 12:36). …

    The estate of Thomas Thomson was inventoried on 18 January 1705/6 by John Thomson Sr., Samuel Woodruff, and Joseph Hawley, it was valued at £456:13:05 (Manwaring 2:126 citing VII:137, also original in Hartford Probate District, Connecticut Estate Files, docket no. 5440). On 5 March 1707/8 the court appointed John Hooker, Samuel Newell, Jr., and Jonathan Wadsworth to distribute the estate among the children. The distribution was submitted on 1 April 1708 and names Thomas Thomson, the eldest son; Elizabeth and Mary Woodruff, children of Elizabeth Woodruff, deceased; Samuel Thomson; Anne Thomson; Daniel Thomson and Marcy Thomson (Manwaring 2:126 which incorrectly transcribes the youngest child's name as Mary; Hartford Probate District, docket no. 5440, also copied in Farmington Deeds 2:198-199.)"
