The last Will & testament of Thomas Skelling, being very Weake In body, but in Perfect memory

I giue to my sun Thomas one Cow, & a young steare & a Calfe

further I giue to my sun John one Cow

& I giue my Towles to bee deuided between them both

further it is my will to make my wife executrix to receiue & pay my debts, and all the goods yt I haue to bee at her dispose, dureing her Widdows estate, & if shee mary she shall haue but the thirds, & the rest to be deuided aequally to all my children

    Thomas Skillings was a witness against James Smith Sr in Salem Court "31:1:1640" [31 Mar 1640] suggesting he was born before 1619 to be of legal age.

  2. Thomas couldn't have been b. 1624 in Topsfield, MA as it wasn't settled until 1635 and not incorporated until 1650. Since a birth prior to 1619, maybe as early as 1614, is likely, Thomas Skillings couldn't have been born in New England. Skillings/Skillins were seen in Ireland, Scotland as well as England but no connection of this Thomas to any of these groups has been proved yet.
