1 March 1828 - It was reported in the HTG that Thomas Prangnell was taking over the license of Black Snake Inn from Thomas PRESNELL junr in March 1828. Listed as the person to whom certificate for Public House license in Buckinghamshire has been granted: T. PRANGNELL, Black Snake, Glenarchy.

15 March 1828 - The following advertisement appeared: Half-Way House, Black Snake. MR. THOMAS PRANGNALL begs leave to acquaint his Friends and the Public, that he has obtained a Transfer of the License to the said House, situated between Hobart Town and New Norfolk; and he trusts by attention to business and moderate charges, that a constant supply of superior Liquor and good accommodation, will meet liberal support in the above establishment. N.B.--The Stock of Spirits and Wines are of the best quality, either wholesale or retail, on moderate Terms. He also has opened a General Store, of which he solicits the attention of the Public, where all kinds of Colonial produce will be taken in payment for the aforesaid Goods. +++A Quantity of excellent Hay and Straw for Sale. ***Good Stables for Horses, with an excellent Stock-yard for Cattle and Sheep. 12 April 1828 - An advertisement appeared for T. Pitt "now butchering on the former premises of T. Prangnell". (HTC, p. 2)

30 August 1828 - The following notice appeared in the "Hobart Town Courier", p. 2: THE Creditors of Thomas Prangnell, of the Black Snake Public House are requested to attend my Office in Liverpoole street, Hobart town, on Thursday the fourth day of September next, at one o'clock precisely, when a statement of affairs of the said Thomas Prangnall will be submitted to them, and a proposition made for the liquidation of their claims. T. W. ROWLANDS."

3 October 1828 - It was reported in The Tasmanian that Thos. Prangnell had been granted a licence for the Black Snake Inn at Black Snake.

3 October 1829 - Thos. Prangnell's licence again renewed. (HTG)

21 June 1833 - In HTG: Police Office 18 June 1833: Assignments - Thos. Pragnall, Liverpool-st , a boy.

1838 - Residing at Murray St, Hobart, Tasmania.

1844 - Died aged 44 years. Cause of death was given as madness. Death informant was John Pregnall, son, Harrington St.
