Thomas Philips was baptised on 2nd September 1792 at Harpenden in Hertfordshire, son of Hannah Philips, formerly Swallow, and Thomas Philips. At the time of his baptism he was described as being a pauper and from the workhouse. Sadly he appears to have died as a baby, being buried less than two months after his baptism.
