He married Elizabeth Scott. Thomas died on 26 Sep 1890 according to the manuscript, The Leslie Family of Port Mouton, Queens County, Nova Scotia by E. Murray Mosher. However his is listed in 1896 in the Nova Scotia Directory as a farmer. His date of death needs verification. Thomas had a large farm at Bells Point, Port Mouton, Queens, Nova Scotia. In the 1871 census, he listed his occupation as a cooper and in the Nova Scotia directory of 1871 as a farmer and fisherman.
