to Mary _____ |
Little is known about Thomas King. So far only two sightings have been found for him, being the baptisms of two sons to him and his wife Mary in the parish of Leek Wootton, Warwickshire, in the 1790s.
Mary died in 1809. Her burial record indicates that Thomas was still alive then. One possibility is that Thomas may have been the Thomas King buried at Leek Wootton on 26th January 1822, aged 80, which would suggest he was born around 1741.

BURIALS in the Parish of Leek Wootton the County of Warwick in the Year 1822 | No | Name | Abode | When buried | Age | By whom the Ceremony was performed | 79 | Thomas King | Leek Wootton | Jan[uar]y 26th | 80 years [1741/2] | Joshua Newby Curate |
Possible burial, although the age would make him well into his fifties when his youngest child was baptised. There was another Thomas King buried at Leek Wootton in 1826 but he was probably too young to be this Thomas, with the age given suggesting he was born 1778/9, so only about sixteen years before this Thomas’s first known child was baptised. The 1826 burial would also appear to correspond with an administration bond taken out by Elizabeth King his widow shortly afterwards.
