    Thomas Hog of Newliston was born on 4 September 1742 at Newliston, West Lothian, Scotland.2,3 He married, firstly, Lady Mary Julian Maitland, daughter of James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale and Mary Lombe, on 9 March 1770.1 He married, secondly, Mary Stuart, daughter of James Stewart, on 7 March 1798 at Kirkliston, West Lothian, Scotland.2,3 He died in March 1827 at age 84.2
    He lived at Newliston, Linlithgow, Scotland.4
