- Montgomery County, Virginia Deed Book I & J, page 417 - 24 May 1826 betw. Ezra Reed and Lydia Reed, his wife and Thomas Helms of Franklin County, VA for $20, three tracts of land lying on Big Run a branch of Little River being the land Henry Light deceased and at his death bequeathed to certain children among the rest Liddy Light his daughter now Liddy Reed was entitled one tenth part of the said three tract one of 210 acres by patent, one 245 acres, one other of 22 acres her right will more fully affirm by the report of the commissioners signed: Ezra Reed, Liddy Reed recorded: 10 January 1827.
- Floyd County, Virginia Deed Book B, page 284 - 28 March 1839 between Thomas Helms and Polly his wife of Patrick County, VA and Humphrey Reed of FCV for $150 land on the waters of Howells Creek and the South fork, all the waters of Little river containing 165 acres bounded . . . corner of survey for William Reppitos now belonging to Jacob Helms heirs near a small branch on the north side . . . on a line of the land of Elizabeth Goodson signed: Thos. Helms, Polly (her x mark) Helms recorded: 10 July 1839.
- Floyd County, Virginia DB B, page 457 - 28 May 1841 between Thomas Helms and Humphrey Reed both of FCV for $150 land on the waters of South fork of Little river and Howells Creek and known by the name of Panter Knob containing 150 acres signed: Thos. Helms recorded: Floyd Court 5 June 1841.
- Floyd County, Deed Book C, page 144 - Polly Helms the wife of Thomas Helms party to a certain deed dated 28 May 1841 to Humphrey Reed personally appeared before us and having the deed explained to her, Polly Helms (not mentioned in the deed) fully agrees to the conveyance and relinquishes all rights of dower to this land in the Deed mentioned. signed: Harvey Deskins J.
