Thomas4 Hale (Thomas,3 Timothy2), born at Springfield, Mass., 26 Oct. 1705, died at Longmeadow, Mass., 8 Jan. 1797, aged 92 (gravestone); married at Springfield, 10 Jan. 1733/4, Abigail4 Burt, born at Springfield, 20 Aug. 1709, died there 28 Mar. 1773, aged 64 (gravestone), daughter of David and Martha3 (Hale) Burt.

    He was listed at Longmeadow in the 1790 Census with a family of two males over 16 years, one male under 16, and four females. These would appear to be himself, his son Thomas and the wife and three daughters of Thomas, Jr.; the boy may have been a grandson or an apprentice. His son Abner was separately listed (two males over 16, three males under 16, and two females); as was also his son Silas (two males over 16, one male under 16, and six females)."
