This Thomas Gilham should not be confused with Thomas Gilham of the "Great Calfpasture" of neighboring Augusta County, Virginia and later York County, South Carolina. That family was probably not related, and generally spelled their name "Gilham or Gillham" and not "Gilliam" as did this family.
