Notes from Dorothy Johansen: DEATH: Date from Sandi Page via Betty Hansen of Tyler, Texas ESTATE: Mentions Thomas ERskine and wife Margaret as children and heirs of William Erskine - FHL#893,760 MARRIAGE: Guernsey County Marriages, Vol A page 1 DEATH: Monroe County Records Book Volume 8, pg. 11 - lists the following information: Settlement of Accounts for Thomas Erskine, James Buchanan Administrator. Notice in partition of land, May 21, 1856. Final listing 22 Jul 1857 and 9 Dec 1857. Also included in our information about this family is a copy of a deed to William Erskine from Thomas and Margaret, dated 14 Movember 1845, when they sold their land in Range 4, Township 2, Section 36 of Monroe County. This sale was entered 15 Dec 1846, signed by James Martin, Justice of Peace. Record can be found in Deed Book Volume 6, Page 655 (copy in family album). (From Betty Hansen.)

I'm not sure if William was Thomas son or his youngest brother. I have record of a Thomas Erskine married to Elizabeth Nixon in 1809, but have not proven this marriage as our Thomas. William could be Thomas' son from this marriage if this is the same person. (From Betty Hansen.)
