Thomas's middle name was almost certainly 'Williams' since his mother's maiden name was 'Williams'.

Thomas was accountant for the Auditor General's Department. He refused the post of Auditor General on account of supposed ill-health, but lived comfortably to the age of 88 years.

He was active in church work all his life.
