He inherited the Calvert County estate, "Weston", given to him in 1702 by his father. He built a handsome mansion there surrounded by a park. There is an extensive Clagett family graveyard at Weston. He owned "Huntington" at Rock Creek; "Clagett's Purchase" (750 acres) in Montgomery Co., near what is now Bethesda; 300 acres near Beaver Dam, Prince George's Co.; and "Strife."
