Thomas Cashore's four elder children were born in Edinborgh, Scotland. He then moved to Belfast, Ireland where the other children were born including Elizabeth. He was what was called a mechanical engineer on locomotives and was sent from Edinburgh to Belfast and as a master mechanic came to America. First he was to Taunton, New Jersey where the first American locomotives were built.

His four sons (Andrew, John, Thomas and Robert) were master' mechanics in four rail road shops in this country. William was a blacksmith

Alexander is living with William in 1860 aged 19. He was a private in Company G of the First Dragoons from Angelica, Allegany Co as show on Page 120 of "History of Allegany County, NY 1806-1879. He went to Wisc where he was enumerated in Oregon, Dane, Co WI with his wife Mary J. He died before 1880 by left 4 childre as found in the 1880 census with their ages, Mery 9, Elebeth 7, John 5 and Alexander 3

Ann Jane is Jane that married Hosea Hendee in Chicago, then to CA by 1880.

Catherine is the Kate Cashore, aged 12, born Ireland as enumerated with a Robbins family in 1860 in Farmersville, Cattaraugus, NY

Robert is enumerated in 1860 age 10 . He settled in Chicago
