[Note: it is very frustrating that a 36-year gap between marriages is asserted without comment and repeated by so many sources (the first wife is said to have died in 1710, which appears supported by records so 36 years until the second marriage in 1746?) Undoubtedly there were additional marriages. The marriage to Esther Thurston in 1711 clearly belongs to this Thomas based on her age, and NOT to his underage son as given on p. 179. Further, it seems likely Thomas married the widow of Ephraim Pond (see Family:Unknown Bacon and Deborah Hawes (2)) although all that can be proved is that she married a man named Bacon and died by 1737. Although no evidence of others has been found, it is conceivable there may have been one or more others. No probate file for Thomas has been found, and none of the known deeds name his wife.]
