Theresa Edwards was born on 13th April 1880 at Pagham in Sussex, daughter of a dressmaker named Fanny Edwards, formerly Grant, and her husband William Edwards, a traction enginer driver. Theresa was the seventh of the couple's ten children. The 1881 and 1891 censuses each find Theresa living with her parents and siblings in Pagham.
Some time between 1891 and 1901 the family left Pagham; Theresa's parents appear in the 1901 census living at Runcton in the parish of North Mundham, a short distance inland from Pagham. However, Theresa had left home by this point. She was working as a housemaid for a retired stock dealer and his family in the Hampstead area of London.
Theresa's family; Theresa and George are thought to be the central two people standing at the back - indeed this may be their wedding party in 1908. Theresa later returned to Sussex. On 20th April 1908, aged 28, she married a railway fireman named George Miller. They married at the parish of North Mundham where Theresa's parents lived. At the time of their marriage George was living in Midhurst and working as a railway fireman.
After their marriage George and Theresa lived in Midhurst, appearing there in the 1911 census living at Shelley Cottages on Ashfield Road in the town. George was working for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway at this time.
George and Theresa do not appear to have had any children. Theresa's mother died in 1925 at North Mundham, after which Theresa's father and her younger sisters moved to Littlehampton, where Theresa's father died in 1933.
George and Theresa seem to have stayed in Sussex, and by outbreak of the Second World War they were living in the seaside town of Bognor Regis, where they lived at a house called 'Gaza', 57 Longford Road, where they appear to have lived for the rest of their lives.
Theresa died on 18th December 1958, aged 78. George outlived her by exactly a year. After his death his niece Lily Louise Glover, daughter of Theresa's late sister Annie, administered his estate.

This baptism has been linked to the Theresa Edwards who married George Miller on the basis of their marriage certificate which says she was the daughter of William Edwards, engine driver, and the census after their marriage which says that Theresa was born around 1880 in Pagham. These then point to the 1881 and 1891 censuses in which Theresa appears with her parents in Pagham, and this baptism record.
