Facts and Events
Edith Eliza Edwards was born on 24th September 1875 and baptised a month later at Sidlesham in Sussex. She was the daughter of a dressmaker named Fanny Edwards, formerly Grant, and her husband William Edwards, a traction engine driver. Edith Eliza had a twin a brother named William; they were baptised together. Altogether the family had ten children, with the twins being the third and fourth children out of the ten.
Shortly after the twins' birth the family left Sidlesham and moved to the neighbouring parish of Pagham, where Edith Eliza appears in the 1881 census. She is listed as Eliza, suggesting she may have been known by her middle name.
Sadly Edith Eliza died when she was only ten years old. She was buried at Pagham on 7th February 1886.
